Our comprehensive 4-week intensive programme certifies you as a Level 2 yoga teacher. You will gain the skills to teach different groups independently and to plan and deliver yoga classes and courses effectively.
This training also serves as a solid foundation for our 2-year modular training or various specialised courses. It is also well suited as a supplement to longer, multi-year training programmes.
The content covered in the intensive training corresponds to that of our 1-year training at the Stadtcenter, although participants in the 1-year training can use the fourth week as a final module.
You may be wondering how it is possible to learn and teach a system as complex as yoga in just four weeks. Our 4-week intensive training course, which has been running successfully for many years, answers this question.
Much like immersing yourself in a foreign language in its country of origin, our intensive course enables you to grasp and internalise the essence and depth of yoga in the shortest possible time.
During these intensive weeks, away from the distractions of everyday life, you will learn more for your personal practice than would otherwise be possible in several years.
To be eligible to sit the examination, you must have completed the Yoga Vidya Teacher Training Course. The examination consists of several demonstration sessions, a written exam and, where applicable, an oral exam.
There is an examination at the end of the course. Upon completion, you will receive the certificate ‘Yoga Teacher (BYV)’ for a minimum of 400 teaching units (Level 2) from the Professional Association of Yoga Vidya Teachers (BYV). The certificate is widely recognised.
The Professional Association of Yoga Vidya Teachers e.V. (BYV) is an association of yoga teachers committed to classical, integral yoga. In collaboration with Yoga Vidya e.V., it conducts yoga teacher training and further education courses, publishes yoga teaching materials, maintains contacts with other associations and institutions, and supports its members in their work.
The Yoga Vidya teacher training courses are registered with the Yoga Alliance. The Yoga Alliance stands for a specific standard of quality. Yoga teachers and schools registered with it enjoy a high international reputation. This is particularly relevant if you wish to work internationally. For further information on registration, please contact vicara(at)yoga-vidya.de
A basic understanding of the asanas and yoga philosophy is necessary so that you know what to expect. However, you do not need to be at an advanced level to take part.
The training is intensive and requires discipline. Full attendance at all classes, lectures and workshops is compulsory. Meat, fish, eggs, alcohol, tobacco and drugs are not permitted during the training.

Yoga Vidya e.V., founded in 1992, is Europe’s largest centre for yoga teacher training and professional development, having successfully trained over 24,000 yoga teachers.
We are a non-profit, non-commercial association dedicated to spreading the wisdom teachings (Vidya), practices and techniques of classical holistic yoga.
All course fees go directly towards the association’s work. Any donations are tax-deductible. Vidya means knowledge, wisdom and science.
In this way, we aim to pass on yoga in all its breadth and depth – and to empower people to pass on yoga competently and with joy.
Most of our training courses are open to anyone wishing to acquire in-depth knowledge of alternative, holistic counselling and treatment methods and related disciplines.
They are also suitable for you if you do not wish to use your knowledge professionally, but simply want to explore a particular area of holistic health and lifestyle in greater depth for your own personal development.
At Yoga Vidya, you will find a unique range of training courses with a holistic approach. They are characterised by:
Easy learning through the organic combination of theory and practice: In a highly energised and protected atmosphere, away from everyday life, learning takes place on all levels. You can absorb much more new information in a short space of time than you might otherwise be used to.
Integration of yoga, meditation and mantra chanting: You gain the energy and strength needed to actively put what you have learnt into practice. And you develop the charisma and presence required to successfully advise others, help them or pass on your knowledge as a teacher.
Gain knowledge, enhance your professional skills, and recharge your batteries: thanks to the combination of specific training content with the fundamental spiritual practices of yoga, you won’t feel drained and exhausted by the end, but energised – often even more refreshed than after a holiday!
A tried-and-tested concept with a strong reputation: Since 1993, Yoga Vidya, Europe’s leading yoga teacher training centre, has been training yoga teachers using a proven system. This concept has been successfully applied to other training courses.
High quality standards: The training courses are led by highly qualified professionals who themselves practise and live what they teach. This brings a wealth of life wisdom and practical knowledge to the programme.
Over 60.000 satisfied graduates, whose lives have often been given a decisive new impetus by the training.
Affordable all-inclusive rates: As a non-profit organisation, we are able to offer high quality at exceptionally low prices. Over 280 dedicated staff members work with care to ensure a harmonious stay.
Integration through participation: Trainees help out around the house for 45 minutes each day. This helps to keep prices as low as possible and fosters a sense of family among staff and trainees.
A commitment to health and the environment: A smoke-free and alcohol-free establishment. Solar-powered electricity and heat generation in partnership with the neighbouring operator of a biogas plant. Healthy, organic, vegan wholefoods. Our kitchen in Bad Meinberg is Germany’s largest certified organic kitchen.
