Validity

In order to guarantee the continued operation of this online service and the general services offered by Yoga Vidya,  we must comply with the existing legal conditions.

The legal relationship between you and Yoga Vidya is governed exclusively by German law. Should individual provisions be or become invalid, the validity of remaining provisions remains unaffected. Where possible, the invalid provision will be replaced by a valid one, which comes closest to the previous, now invalid, provision.

Yoga Vidya reserves the right to change these terms at any time. An explicit note of the change will not occur. It is suggested that you check regulations regularly for changes.

For the general use of the online offer

Separate conditions of use and / or participation apply to parts of the online offer. These are expressly marked and displayed by Yoga Vidya and are binding for the respective use of these parts.

Content of the online offer

Yoga Vidya claims no responsibility for the correctness, completeness or quality of the information provided. Liability claims against Yoga Vidya eV, which relate to material or immaterial damages, that are caused by the use or disuse of the information provided or by the use of incorrect and incomplete information, are excluded, unless the Yoga Vidya eV has demonstrated intentional or gross negligence.

Liability for damages resulting from injury to life, limb or health remains unaffected.

All offers are non-binding. Yoga Vidya expressly reserves the right to change, supplement or delete parts of the web pages or the entire offer without prior notice or to discontinue the publication temporarily or permanently.

References and links

Simple links (HTML links) to subpages,  subdirectories (Deep Links), as well as incorporation of the Yoga Vidya website into parts (e.g., via frames) of other websites are only permitted with the expressed consent of Yoga Vidya. Setting up HTML links to our offers is permitted and welcomed. Yoga Vidya reserves the right to request the deletion of any HTML link, within a reasonable period, at any time without stating a reason.

Yoga Vidya is the content provider for its own content, according to the general laws. Cross-references (links) to content from other providers should be distinguished. Yoga Vidya eV is only responsible for this external content if it has previous knowledge (i.e. also of unlawful or punishable content) and it is technically possible and reasonable to prevent their use (§5 Abs.2 TMG).

Links are dynamic references. Yoga Vidya e.V. cannot constantly check third-party content to determine whether this content is responsible for civil or criminal liability. However, according to the TMG the content provider is not obliged to constantly review the content to which it refers in its offer for changes that could justify a responsibility again. The technical possibility and reasonableness is not influenced by the fact that the unlawful or punishable offer can be accessed from other servers even after blocking the access from the Yoga Vidya homepage.

Yoga Vidya endeavors to respect the copyrights of images, graphics, sound documents, video sequences and texts used in all publications, to use images, graphics, sound documents, video sequences and texts created by itself or to use license-free graphics, sound documents, video sequences and texts.

All brand names and trademarks mentioned within the Internet offer which are possibly protected by third parties are subject without restriction to the provisions of the respective valid trademark law and the ownership rights of the respective registered owners. Just because of the mere mention it is not to conclude that trademarks are not protected by rights of third parties!

For seminars at Yoga Vidya

We are a vegetarian non-smoking house. In order to get the most out of the programme we ask you to abstain from meat, fish, eggs, alcohol and tobacco during your stay and to participate in all course programmes. Smoking is strongly discouraged, but possible outside of the premises.

We are not a hotel, but a yoga seminar house. We offer guests the unique opportunity to enrich their stay with yoga classes including deep relaxation, meditation and kirtan singing for their health and well-being. In order to preserve the character of the house, participation in at least one meditation and one yoga class per day is obligatory for all guests.

For training at Yoga Vidya

During training, there is complete abstinence from alcohol, smoking, drugs, meat, fish and eggs. Participation in all programmes, in keeping with the daily routine (see corresponding seminar description) is required and prerequisite for the certificate. This includes morning and evening meditation and kirtan singing, yoga classes and  karma yoga (45 minute assistance daily to maximise the smooth running of the house).

Failure to comply with the terms and conditions will result in the participant being excluded from the course. In this case, as well as premature termination of the course, there is no right to a refund.

For training at Yoga Vidya

Note on the practice of medicine

Please note that there are legal requirements for the "practice of medicine". Trainings do not entitle participants to practice medicine in Germany without the approval of the competent state-legal organs, and if you are not a licensed doctor, psychologist or alternative medical or psycho-therapy practitioner.

If you do not have such a license, you can use the contents of trainings  in the form of group offers, in which no diagnoses are made or specific complaints are treated.

Terms of payment / refund:

  • Deposit for weekends is € 25; week-long seminars € 100; multi-week courses € 250.
  • The balance of payment is due 2 weeks before the seminar begins or 8 days before when paying by direct debit . If you book within 2 weeks of the start of the seminar; you must pay in full upon registration.
  • We can guarantee your reservation and room request only if your payment is made within these parameters.
  • If you cancel less than 2 weeks before the start of the seminar, 50% of the seminar fee will be retained (or you can choose to receive a voucher for the total amount, which may be applied to the same or an other course at a later date).
  • 25% discount for young people up to the age of 25 at the campsite / dormitory in Bad Meinberg and Westerwald -  at Haus Nordsee, this is applicable only in the low season.

Be aware that some trainings have special conditions for participation and/or cancellation.

Some trainings consist of 2 or more parts, but must be enrolled as a whole. In these training, registration in only one part is not possible. No refunds can be given after the beginning of the first training section. This does not apply to training courses with flexibility in choosing modules, as each component represents a self-contained unit.

Special prices

  • Arrival one day before the beginning of the seminar: same price as daily price for individual guests (only recommended for people who have already attended a seminar here).
  • Departure one day after the end of the seminar with overnight stay and dinner: half price as daily price
  • Departure one day after the end of the seminar, including overnight stay, yoga class, dinner and brunch: same price as daily rate.
  • Late arrival or early departure from the seminar, if  mentioned at registration: normal seminar price less daily price. (Only possible for seminars.)
  • In the case of advanced trainings, it is not possible to arrive late or depart early, unless you have mention this on the registration form: normal seminar price, no deduction. This is only possible for seminars. In the case of advanced training, it is not possible to arrive late or early.

Please bring

Bedding, towels, slippers, alarm clock, biodegradable toiletries and all personal belongings, including loose comfortable clothing for asana class and meditation shawl. A hard case to keep your glasses safe during yoga sessions is recommended. Also, if possible: yoga mat, meditation cushion, meditation blanket (can also be borrowed for free or purchased at the onsite Yoga Vidya shop).Rental fee for bedding 5 €.

Participation and Refund Policy for Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Vidya 4-weeks training and 2-year module training

Basic knowledge of asana, pranayama and yoga philosophy is strongly suggested. If you are new to yoga or would like to meet us beforehand, we recommend attending one of the yoga teacher preparation seminars. Participation in all classes, lectures and workshops is mandatory. Meat, fish, eggs, tobacco, alcohol, coffee and black tea are not allowed during the training.

Failure to comply with the terms and conditions will result in the participant being excluded from the course. In this case, as well as premature termination of the course, there is no right to a refund.

  • If you cancel less than 2 weeks before the start of the course: 50% refund.
  • Transfers and credits up to 2 weeks before the start of the course: free of charge.

2-year yoga teacher training at the Yoga Vidya city centres

Basic knowledge of asana, pranayama and yoga philosophy is strongly suggested. Regular participation in classes and seminars, as well as the will to develop yourself in a positive direction, are assumed. In addition to attending weekly classes, you should plan on spending 30-90 minutes daily doing exercises.

In the 2nd year, abstinence from alcohol, tobacco, meat and fish is part of the course. To be admitted to the final examination, you will need to have taken part in at least 85% of the course hours and the seminars. Missed lessons can be made up free of charge (centres have slightly different conditions, please ask at the respective centre).

For a missed weekends in the centre or in a Yoga Vidya retreat house, another weekend with a similar theme may be attended within the same year. Note: there may be additional charges for extra nights or seminars with special guest teachers). Withdrawal from the course at any time is possible upon payment of ¼ of the balance of the entire training. Otherwise, the statutory provisions apply.

3-year yoga teacher training

Basic knowledge of asana, pranayama and yoga philosophy is strongly suggested Regular participation in the classes and seminars, as well as the will to develop yourself, is assumed. Plan on spending 30-90 minutes on the exercises every day. From the third year renunciation of alcohol, tobacco, meat and fish is included.

Each year includes 7 weekend seminars and a full-week seminar. For the admission to the  exam, you must have attended at least 85% of the seminars.

Included in the cost of the training are accommodation, meals and all courses. Exam fees are not charged. Payments are still due if, for any reason, the training is interrupted. Withdrawal without giving reasons is possible at the end of each training year with a three-month notice period and payment of € 300.

Otherwise, statutory provisions apply. Participation in the yoga teachers’ training entitles participants to a 20% discount on all other seminars offered by Yoga Vidya in Bad Meinberg and Westerwald, as well as courses in the fully-affiliated Yoga Vidya Centres (currently Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Koblenz, Essen, Mainz).

Conditions of participation for travel

Up to 30 days before the start of the seminar, total refund minus the down payment of € 250.00

From the 29th to 20th day before departure: 50% of the cost.

From the 20th day, no refund is possible. We recommend travel cancellation insurance, available from travel agencies or online.

Conditions of participation for the Xperience festival

Registration corresponds to the ticket order for the festival. Therefore the total amount of the price for the festival / ticket must be paid within 14 days of registration.
